Day 89

Haven't had this in a long time. So when I saw the Dairy Queen booth at Market Market today, I decided to line up at the cashier. I got the Oreo Blizzard at P65. (smallest serving at 9 oz). Happy? Not! It was too sweet for my taste. It lacked the creaminess I look for in vanilla based frozen treats. I would have been happier with a McDonald's Hot Fudge Sundae than this. Mas mura pa at P25. a pop!

Day 88

Cooking for two isn't as simple as it sounds. I, more often than not, end up with leftovers that, again more often than not, stay as leftovers until they hit the trashbin. That is why I thank my dear friend, Cecile, for suggesting that I try this Pakbet pack from the grocery because not only does it cook just enough for Mon and me; it is also way cheaper since all the ingredients are in (from the garlic cloves to the bagoong!) for only P35 bucks! It can't get easier than this, can it.

Day 87

I got these stuff at Booksale in Mall of Asia. I am looking for a new writer and I hope J.E. is good.

Day 86

I was happy to grab this bag suspender I saw at a thrift store in Greenhills. It is very practical and it does work, surprisingly! I am definitely going back to that store and grabe some more. One for each bag I have. Yes, it is that cheap.

Day 85

My dentist friend prescribes these really cheap medicines and swears that they work just fine.

Day 84

I didn't find this amusing at all! In fact, I felt outraged when I saw the recognition ceremony of a public school being held right in the heart of this mall! These children deserve a proper venue for a momentous event in their lives such as this! Is a campus for these children who are supposed to be the future of our nation too much to ask of the leaders of our land?

Day 83

It somehow lessens the guilt of having to use plastic to carry our shopping loot.

Day 82

It was a moment of nostalgia for me when I saw this shelf in National Bookstore. I actually wanted to grab one and read! This Nancy Drew Mystery Stories was what started me on reading all the way back during my elementary years in school.

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Day 81

I treated myself to a tall glass of Fruitas this afternoon after doing the groceries in SM Bicutan, the way I always do every week. And it was to my surprise today that even Fruitas was bitten by the election bug, too!

Monday, March 22, 2010

Day 80

It did kinda look like a levitating truck! Floating on the road, hahaha... Truck with wings! It was fun to tail the truck and watch it seem to glide on the road without its wheels touching the ground... You will never need to replace rear tires ever! LOL!

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Day 79

My dear friend, Tracy, who by the way has this huge passion for cooking (and digiscrapping) is the reason I got these ramekins for myself. She serves some of her great foodie creations in these cute litte baking cups and it adds a lot of ooooomph to the dish's presentation! I am pretty sure my dishes wouldn't taste half as deelish as hers, but at least I'll up my presentation somehow.

Oh, and I do have this like for odd looking plates.... black ones, square ones, triangular ones, basta anything other than round ... so when I saw this eloooongated not-too-deep serving dish, I just knew I had to have one.

Day 78

KFC's latest... Chewy Cheeze. Tried this with lunch. It was chewey, yes. cheezy, yes. It was fun to eat. But with only 7 pieces a box, it was bitin, yes.

Thursday, March 18, 2010

Day 77

I went to Healthy Options in Bonifacio High Street today to get a bottle of my mom's prescription. Everything in the store is natural. And it is about almost anything... snacks, supplements, beverages, food, cosmetics, lotions, soaps and so much more. Oh, and you should see their plastic wrapping bags. Even those are earth-friendly! So, is natural the way to go these days?

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Day 76

They caught my eye while I was driving this morning... Those clumps of white balls that, at first, I thought were cotton balls that somehow got snagged on the branches of the tree...
This is a kapok tree, right? And those white balls are the white fibers that have bursted at the seams of their pods!
Kapok brings back a lot of memories of my childhood; those days when kapok was used to stuff our pillows and mattresses, our stuffed toys, our upholstery and more! I wonder if we still have a kapok industry today.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Day 75

Our D-link wired router has finally said adieu... And now, we have gone wireless at home. It is kinda cool to be able to surf anywhere in the house via the lappy and even via our mobile fones. We really should have gone wireless a long time ago!

Day 74

I don't even know how to call it, but this thingy is probably one of the more practical buys I bought last Christmas season. My good friend, Cecile, recommended that I try to find it in Virra mall and grab one. I did and now I wish I had bought several pieces for myself!
What is it? It is a thingy designed to help you carry stuff when you shop. Just fit your shopping bags in the loop with the press of a button and voila! All bags are ready to go in just one grip! Never lose, misplace or drop a bag ever while you shop! Pretty neat, don't you think?

Day 73

This was Connecticut Street in Greenhills at 11:52 am today. I have never seen it like this, ever! Unbelievably devoid of traffic! If this was because people were somewhere watching the boxing match of Pacquiao, I certainly wish he had a fight every single day!

Day 72

I have never hired a labandera in my entire married life. I do have a weekly planchadora though. I take our laundry to my suking laundromat that does the washing for me. I just pick it up a couple of hours later all dry and neatly folded, ready for ironing. It has its advantages and disadvantages, of course. But this system works for me fine. I think I'll stick with it.

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Day 71

After seeing the movie, I am no longer suprised why it made a killing at the box office on its opening day!

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Day 70

It is easy to see how much Disney enjoys his parlor time. Every other Thursday, we go to his groomer, Lori, who gives him his bath-and-blowdry... he then gets his ears cleaned.... and his tummy shaved .... his paws trimmed off excess hair... nails cut and filed... He comes home gleaming and smelling great!

Day 69

Yes, I wear reading glasses now. I started wearing them late last year. Not that I have a choice. Inevitable. It just is. I just simply have to if I want to be able to read, write, surf and thread a needle! Age really has a way of catching up with us. Hahaha...

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Day 68

"We don't make blueberry cheesecake anymore." That's what they told me when I visited Red Ribbon today. There goes my favorite cake... well, at least there is still Mango Cake around.... "One slice, please."

Monday, March 8, 2010

Day 67

I checked out this relatively new booth in SM and bought a couple of sausages for breakfast and baon. I hope they really taste as good as the free taste I tried. I will let you know.

Sunday, March 7, 2010

Day 66

With due allowance to not knowing the canine anatomy ultrasonically, results of this sonogram we did on Margaux tonight are equivocal. At day 25, post coitus, maybe it was just to early to do the scan. Well, nobody said the wait would be easy.

Saturday, March 6, 2010

Day 65

I have allergies to NSAIDs or pain relievers like Ponstan, Flanax, Midol, Alaxan... Only Paracetamol, specifically Biogesic, works for me. Unfortunately, I don't know all the stuff I am allergic to. Oral medications and IM injections save the day for me whenever my allergies start to flare up.

Friday, March 5, 2010

Day 64

It is not about the food inside but the packing of Shakey's Delivery. Although it isn't very earth-friendly, it being made of plastic, it is very convenient, microwaveable, reuseable.

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Day 63

I was finally able to slow down and take a shot of this stone, right in front of the chapel in our village. A reminder of sorts. Something for everyone to think about and ponder on.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Day 62

Almost, but not quite.

Day 61

It was my version of French toast for breakfast this morning. I was happy to find maple hotcake syrup in small single serve packets from Pillsbury now available in the grocery. It was perfect for this morning!

Monday, March 1, 2010

Day 60

This is why I love Sun.
