Day 31

(thanks to M for capturing the moment for me and Disney)
I may not have taken this shot for today but special moments like this are worth sharing, don't you think? A man's bestfriend's hug is as warm, as heartfelt and as human as any other person's hug... maybe even more...

Day 30

My high school friends and I met at Murray and D'Vine restaurant in Serendra which serves gourmet burgers and wines.... The service was good ... the food was even even greater ... but what was greatest was the company of people you have loved all these years. Real friends stay as friends forever. And just like wine, they get even better with age.

Day 29

I got a copy of Yes! today. Yes, I still need my chismis fix every now and then....

Thursday, January 28, 2010

Day 28

This is Bonifacio High Street, one of the pet-friendly places to go to in the Metro. I have yet to keep my promise to Disney to take him there one day. I am sure he would have a lot of fun playing as well as meeting other furbabies also taking a walk that day.

Day 27

I saw this in SM Hypermart labeled as Dagupan bangus. For only P100, you get a pack of three boneless bangus, marinated and ready for frying! Quite a steal, don't you think!

Day 26

National Geographic brings to us this replica of a baby blue whale, now being exhibited at the activity center in Market Market. Some of the interesting trivia I learned at the exhibit....
... that these mammals are the largest ever to inhabit the earth.. that they can grow to up to a hundred feet (lengthwise, that is approximately two city buses from bumper to bumper or longer than an NBA basektball court)
... that they can weigh up to 200 tons (equivalent to 25 full grown Asian elephants combined or about 2,557 humans)
.... that they have a heart as big as a Mini Cooper weighing close to 450 kilos ( a human can actually crawl thru its major arteries)
.... that they consume an average of 4 tons of tiny shrimp-like animals in a day equivalent to about 64,000 hamburgers!
Interesting!

Day 25

I didn't think it would be that difficult to take their picture! I almost took over a dozen snaps of our koi in our tank ( sorry, no pond) and this was the best I can come up with, sorry (again...). I know, I know.... I need more practice.

Day 24

We had a belated 80th birthday celebration for my Mom in Tagaytay today and for the first time in my life, I heard mass there at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Day 23

They save lives... they save properties... This is probably the closest I ever got to a firetruck. I passed by a firestation this afternoon and this baby firetruck was parked in front. I wasted no time in taking a shot at it.

I used to wonder how a firetruck works.. well, actually, I still do.

Friday, January 22, 2010

Day 22

Cellphones... Gadgets... Shirts... Blouses and other apparel ... Toys... Home decors... Native delicacies and fruits... You name it, Virra Mall's year-round tiangge has got it.

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Day 21

They are small. Sugarfree. And they taste good. The perfect gum for me. Lightly minty and fruity at the same time.

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Day 20

I can say that this is my most favorite fruit of all! You either hate it or not. No in betweens... no gray area. It smells like hell, I tell you, but it tastes like heaven. Well, for me, that is.
My mother in law visited her hometown, Pangi in Maitum, South Cotabato, and brought back with her two tuppersful of Durian, homegrown from my uncle in law's own trees! Thank you, all! Aaaaaahhh, tonight, I'm in heaven!

Day 19

We passed by Koi Village today to get more fishfood for our koi. I took shots of the biggest Japanese carps (Koi) in the village that are sold for a whopping P60,000 each! Get a chance to see them upclose by visiting Koi Village in Magallanes.

Monday, January 18, 2010

Day 18

I have lost count... I have been collecting Pinky St. dolls for almost 3 years now and I have forgotten how many they are now. Meet the newest member of my all-girl group.

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Day 17

It is His feast day today. I lined up with the faithful and the devotees today and for the first time, I was able to come close to the Sto. Nino de Pandacan and touch even just his back long enough for me to say a prayer of thanksgiving and a short wish. It was a very moving experience.

( Taken from the very spot where devotees get to touch the Sto. Nino's back right at the top of the altar. This was my moment.)

Day 16

Will chocolate lovers be happy just the way these are and not wish they were gold bullions instead?

Friday, January 15, 2010

Day 15

She visits houses and stays for a few days. Lucky are those whose abodes have been blessed by the
presence of our dear Mother Mary.

(Taken at my parents' house when I dropped by today)

Thursday, January 14, 2010

Day 14

Yes, they have been kissed!

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Day 13

It is my niece's 13th birthday today and we had a simple dinner at their house.
I can't believe my niece has just become a teenager. Time really flies so fast. Everyone seems to be growing up!

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Day 12

I stopped at the side of the east service road right by our clinic here in Paranaque to take this shot of what used to be called the Home Along Da Riles colony which is now how the railways should be.

Day 11

Nope, it is not your regular PSP nor your usual desktop keyboard nor your cellfone's keypad. This is what I work with everyday, my ultrasound machine's board. This is what I do. This is what I am.

Monday, January 11, 2010

Day 10

I bought this in Manaoag.... the brass pendant is that of a naked Sto. Nino held in a hand, his little birdie all exposed for everyone to see. Teehee... This necklace is supposed to bring luck, more specially in business. We will see.

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Day 9

(Pizza Hut's Two in One Pasta)
I ordered this for lunch today and find it fairly priced. Two pastas in small single serve bowl in one order. Both delicious, both sumptious. I love Pizza Hut.

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Day 8

(Max's Ampalaya con carne)
M's favorite, Ampalaya con Carne... I wish I could learn to cook ampalaya with black beans and beef... and do away with the usual "shrimps and beaten egg way". One day, I will.

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Day 7

Post Yuletide parties are still on at this time of the year... and for me, the best way to go after all that catering and foods-to-go stuff would be the homemade ones!

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Day 6

We brought home a lot of bagnet from our Ilocos trip and have been feasting on it since. This is the last of it. Now I can go on a diet, really.

Day 5

The windmills of Bangui in Ilocos Norte are truly a sight to behold!

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Day 4

Saud Beach in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte

Footprints in the sand....

Sunday, January 3, 2010

Day 3

One of Vigan's "old" streets... Walking down this street is like being taken back in time... a real blast from the past...

Saturday, January 2, 2010

Day 2

This was taken in Manaoag, Pangasinan when we visited last week. Being a predominantly Catholic country, it has lots of shrines and blessed sites and holy springs like the Virgin Well that are worth visiting, not just for their supposed miraculous powers but also for their amazing beauty.

Day 1

The first day of this year also marks Disney's first year with us. We brought him home on the eve of 2010 and he has been my baby since.

Project Diary

All the photos in this blog were taken on the very same day as the title of the post they are in. A gallery of images that will somehow remind me of how the year went by.
